Deep in a mountain valley, surrounded by waterfalls and impossibly clear turquoise water, stands the little village of Bellwater.

At its center rises an old clock tower. It has no magical powers, guards no ancient treasure and has never predicted the future. Yet the villagers insist it is the most important building in the entire valley.

Because in Bellwater, everything happens on time.

At seven, the baker opens his shutters and the smell of warm bread drifts across the bridge. At eight, the waterwheel begins turning beside the river. At nine, farmers pass beneath the clock tower on their way to the surrounding fields. At noon, the bell rings and almost everyone finds an excuse to stop working for lunch.

And precisely at three every afternoon, an elderly woman named Elsbeth walks to the wooden pier and feeds the ducks.

The ducks have become so accustomed to this arrangement that they now gather several minutes early.

Nobody knows what would happen if Elsbeth were late.

Nobody wishes to find out.

Life here follows the gentle rhythm of flowing water, ringing bells and familiar routines. Goats wander beside old fences, kingfishers watch from the docks, wooden boats wait patiently in the harbor, and neighbors stop on the stone bridge simply because they have time for a conversation.

Beyond the rooftops, enormous mountains rise toward the clouds while waterfalls tumble through the forests into the river that has sustained Bellwater for centuries.

Travelers often arrive expecting adventure.

Most end up sitting beside the water instead.

And strangely, nobody seems disappointed.
