By noon, the long table was supposed to be ready.
It wasn't.
Every time someone believed the feast was complete, another neighbor appeared carrying something more — freshly baked bread, potatoes from the garden, strawberries picked that morning, cheese from a nearby farm, another plate of meatballs, or a cake that simply had to find room somewhere.
Eventually, everyone stopped trying to make the table perfect.
They simply made it longer.
Under flowering trees and overlooking the magnificent Swedish lakes and mountains, generations gather around a feast created not by one kitchen, but by an entire community. There is abundance here, but its greatest richness is not found on the plates.
