The Hidden Lake Up North

Far from the roads, closer to everything that matters

They had heard stories about a lake hidden somewhere deep in the northern wilderness — a place without signs, roads or crowds, known mostly to those who had grown up exploring the surrounding forests.

So one summer morning, they saddled the horses and followed an old trail north.

Hours later, the forest suddenly opened before them. Beneath the mountains lay the lake: perfectly still, brilliantly blue and surrounded by pine forest, rocky islands and a solitary red cottage on the distant shore.

The original plan had been to stop for only a few minutes. Instead, saddles came off, food was unpacked and some of the group jumped straight into the cool water. The horses grazed beneath the trees while laughter carried across the lake.

Nobody was in a hurry to leave.
