Where We Built Our Life
Some dreams are not found — they are built together.
Years ago, they stood beside this lake for the first time with little more than an idea.
There was no flourishing garden, no welcoming red house beneath the trees, and no familiar path leading down to the water. There was simply a beautiful piece of countryside and two people imagining what their life might become.
Slowly, season by season, that dream became real.
They planted the first flowers together. They repaired the old stone walls, painted the house its deep Falun red and watched young trees grow tall enough to shade the garden. The little jetty became the place for summer swims, quiet conversations and evenings spent watching the sun disappear across the lake.
Years passed almost without them noticing.
Then, on one warm summer evening, they stopped beside the garden gate.
There was nothing important they needed to do. No work waiting to be finished. For once, they simply stood together and looked.
The flowers were blooming. Water moved gently through the little stream. A duck drifted peacefully between the reflections. Their old wooden boat waited beside the shore, and the windows of the house caught the final golden light of the day.
He quietly placed his arm around her.
Neither of them needed to say anything.
Everything surrounding them carried a piece of their story.
