The sauna had been glowing for hours, stories had been told, and everyone agreed on what should happen next: a refreshing evening swim in the lake.
There was only one problem. Nobody wanted to be first.
After several minutes of brave talk from the safety of the warm sauna, one friend finally declared that the water “couldn’t possibly be that cold.” He ran down the little wooden jetty and jumped straight in.
His expression provided the answer immediately.
The peaceful lakeside erupted in laughter as he desperately reconsidered every decision that had brought him into the freezing water, while his friends suddenly became much less enthusiastic about following him.
