The Snowman That Got Out of Hand
It was supposed to be a small afternoon project
It began with a simple suggestion from the children: “Let’s build a snowman.” Nobody expected the entire family to take the idea quite so seriously.
One snowball became enormous. Then the second somehow became even bigger. Soon a ladder was required, the biggest scarf in the house had been donated to the cause, and several people were debating how they were ever going to get the hat onto his head.
By sunset, the little farm had gained a new resident — a gigantic snowman proudly overlooking the yard. Even the horses seemed curious about their enormous new neighbor, while the family dog contributed in his own way by repeatedly stealing the sticks meant for the arms.
The Snowman That Got Out of Hand celebrates the wonderfully unnecessary things we do simply because they are fun — when family, imagination and a snowy winter afternoon turn a silly idea into a memory nobody will ever forget.
